Dear Clients, Associates & Friends,

Welcome to our De Freitas & Ryan Monthly E-News Update.

Well what a month April turned out to be. We had the Easter Bunny arrive with a few gifts including a few days off and then we had the opportunity of showing our appreciation to those men and women of ANZAC who made sacrifices so we can live free in our wonderful Australia. Yes, another long weekend.

We started the month brilliantly with another De Freitas & Ryan Commercial success story with the Auction of a large Commercial property at Kwinana.

...And down went the hammer
...And up went the SOLD sign

We followed that up a few days later with another million dollar sale just around the corner and so it continued right throughout the month even with all our holiday distractions.

Our new office is proving to be a great asset for our business and each evening we have large numbers of people window shopping at De Freitas & Ryan and subsequently business has been ’rolling’ in the door.

Dalena with another new Strata management, this time in Bicton.

The Property Management side of our business has experienced wonderful growth as our reputation for offering exceptional service in this complex side of the business reaches more property owners. As the business grows, we continue to add to our team and April saw us welcome young Jason Smith to our management team.

Sam’s no longer the youngest person at De Freitas & Ryan as young, Jason doesn’t turn 18 until the 31st of May.

Jason has fitted in really well and we believe we can mould him into another De Freitas & Ryan success story.

Our Residential Sales team is experiencing great success and we have also made another appointment in that area and we’ll be welcoming our new Salesperson to the team in a few weeks time. It is so exciting being part of such a dedicated enthusiastic Sales team that are really offering great service and results to the public.

In these times of great uncertainty, we are fortunate to be building and growing our team when so many of our competitors continue to cut services, salaries and staff.

Our very own resident economist (and Senior Sales Consultant) Mr. Peter Vinci believes he has found the solution to the world’s financial problems.

Mr. Peter Vinci

Here Peter explains a recent example of how to deal with investment banking and hence solve the world’s financial crisis.

Peter’s young son, Rocky, moved to Texas and bought a donkey from a farmer for $100. The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey the next day.

The next day the farmer drove up and said, ’Sorry, Rocky, but I have some bad news. The donkey died.’ Rocky replied, ’Well, then just give me my money back.’ The farmer said, ’Can’t do that. I went and spent it already.’ Rocky said, ’OK, then, just bring me the dead donkey.’ The farmer asked, ’What ya gonna do with a dead donkey?’ Rocky said, ’I’m going to raffle him off.’ The farmer said ’You can’t raffle off a dead donkey!’ Rocky said, ’Sure I can. Watch me. I just won’t tell anybody he’s dead.’

A month later, the farmer met up with Rocky and asked, ’What happened with that dead donkey?’ Rocky said, ’I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at two dollars apiece and made a profit of $898.00.’ The farmer said, ’Didn’t anyone complain?’ Rocky said, ’Just the guy who won. So I gave him his two dollars back.’

Rocky now works for Morgan Stanley.

With all this economic bad news around and the new potential pandemic swine flu, I think we could all do with a little humour at the moment.
